NEWS FLASH 1
Our 1st container of 2013 has arrived. It was sent by the Coquitlam Sunrise Rotary Club on January 5th, 2013. David Greenwood, our Vice President, shipping received a great thank you email from Vicente Pascual, the Community Service Director of the Rotary Club of Panama. He said “ the container has arrived in great shape.” He also said “ We are preparing the distribution of this wonderful donation among several organizations and public hospitals in Panama.” They had specifically requested beds which we were able to supply. This was our 290th container shipped and the 15th container to Panama. Glad we could help Vicente!

NEWS FLASH 2
Our longtime dedicated RWH member and Philippines Champion, Elena Agala recently returned from visiting the Philippines on an inspection tour of the clubs we had recently shipped containers to. She visited 8 cities and several rural areas where she received warm welcomes. The people were so thankful for the containers and all the goods in them which had improved their lives and living conditions. She was able to see firsthand that the goods reached the intended recipients thru our policy of shipping containers from Rotarian club to Rotary club.. She also was able to see firsthand how important our work is. She also presented our new DVD at many club functions and also met and presented it to the Canadian Ambassador in Manila. He said he was surprised at the size of our operation and amazed at all the great work we have done. He wished we had been there when our Prime Minister had visited him a couple of weeks previously.
Elena was also asked to be the keynote speaker and show our DVD at several major Rotary meetings throughout the Philippines. She was also honored with a Paul Harris for all her dedicated and hard work for the Philippines.
Great work Elena! We’re all really proud of you and all the hard work and time you put in for RWH and the Philippines.

NEWS FLASH 3
In late 2012, we passed a major milestone in the estimated value of goods shipped. We passed the $100 MILLION mark. Way to go everybody!
Special Congratulations to Ralph Towsley, a RWH founder, who still turns out religiously. Millions of people around the world owe Ralph a special Thanks for making their life better.
NEWS FLASH 4
We added three new countries in 2012 to our list of countries shipped. They were Armenia, Costa Rica and Greece. We’ve now sent containers to 56 countries.

Rotary World Help of BC received the Donald MacRae Peace Award for its contribution of an estimated $95 million in humanitarian medical and educational equipment to 51 developing countries. The Donald MacRae award is given annually to the individual or group of Rotarians in Canada, Alaska or the Russian Republic, which has made the greatest contribution to international peace through its humanitarian work..
